Organizational Concepts

Managers Must Lead

We know from years of experience and the social science literature that successful managers, among their many skills, possess the following qualities:

• Excellent at communicating with individuals at all levels of the organization and the external environment;

• Responsive to the needs of senior executives of those at other organizational levels;

• Upfront about what they can contribute to any task or work product;

• Able to produce their own quality work and to facilitate excellent work from others.

Our History

Founded in 1995, Organizational Concepts is a private, Culver City-based independent consulting group that provides professional support to managers in their decision-making; in their effort to assess the impact of public policy, and their effort to mobilize resources and design programs that make communities better places for families to live, work, and thrive.

The group is both collaborative and interdisciplinary, with years of documented success coaching, training, and advancing the needs of managers in foundations, nonprofit organizations, government, and business. Organizational Concepts is lead by Dr. Melvin L. Musick in partnership with two highly respected and accomplished principal consultants: Ms. Sally Lew and Ms. LaNiece Jones. Sally Lew is President at Eastwind Consulting, LLC; and LaNiece Jones is Managing Principal at LA Jones and Associates.
